This begin in Summer 2017. Pay by License Plate is a system that allows a vehicle to park in a space using their license plate number instead of placing a receipt on the dash. The driver or occupant of the vehicle remembers their plate number, inputs it into the pay station, pays for the amount of time they need and then goes to their desired destination. Receipts are optional. There is no need to return to the vehicle to place a receipt on the dash. If your time is running out and additional time is needed you can purchase additional parking time remotely through your smartphone app without having to return to the pay station. Parking enforcement personnel are able to identify vehicles that are paid electronically by reviewing the license plate number.
